Road to Atlanta!
|
We
are usually not comfortable in asking for donations, even for a good
cause, however we have been invited to
participate in NAFEM 2002 charity ride
“Hospitality Hogs, Ride to Orlando” and asking is part of
the deal.
NAFEM
2002 marks the second time that people from our industry, servicers,
dealers, reps, manufacturer’s, and even a lowly magazine guy
(Brian Ward, FER Magazine), will ride their motorcycles to the
NAFEM-2001 show in Orlando to raise money for America’s Second
Harvest Foodbank program. (Not to mention just for the fun of riding
to Orlando)
The
NAFEM 99 “Ride to
Dallas” we raised $50,000.00 for the foodbank and we are hoping to
double that in 2001. In
99’, CFESA members were one of the largest supporters and this
year we want to be THE LARGEST SUPPORTER.
For
those of you not familiar with Americas Second Harvest, it’s the
nation’s largest and most comprehensive Non-Profit Charitable food
distribution system, with nearly 200 affiliates around the country.
This wonderful organization moves a billion pounds of food
each year, ranging from packaged goods from food manufacturers and
supermarket firms to finished, prepared but un-served foods from
foodservice outlets. More than 26 million needy Americans, an
estimated 8 million of them children, benefit each year from Second
Harvest’s efforts.
All
money raised is 100% tax deductible and as an added bonus all
contributors will have their names listed in Food Equipment Reports.
All
of us have been very blessed and are very fortunate for what we
have, please help us make this happen by using the enclosed
“Donation / Pledge” form to send your donation (before August 1st,
2001) for this very worthy cause.
